Hi, folks!

So, I used to joke in here that this was really pointless since basically you know me if you're reading this in the first place, but as that doesn't seem to be the case a lot of the time, here's a short introduction:

I'm from Texas but now I live in Canada.

I'm a big old geek.
I spend copious amounts of time online (though I'm spending a lot less of that time updating my LJ nowadays).
I run Linux on my desktop (and on my eee!).
I play video games (though probably a lot of people would label me a dreaded casual gamer).
The majority of the books I read have a wizard involved at some point.
I'm "the computer gal" at my current job at Secret Project Z (and I was the computer gal at my previous job as well).
I've got a degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M (whoop!).
I'm a big music geek (to the point of college radio dj-ing for a couple of semesters).

Musicians I enjoy greatly that you might not know: Old 97's, Guster, Starling, Josh Ritter, Rheostatics, Joe Pisapia, John Wesley Harding, and a bunch of other people who I like but don't know as well or who you probably have an opinion on one way or another already. ;)
